President Prabowo Subianto highlighted the significant impact of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program during the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly in Jakarta. The program, which has been running for eight months, has already benefited 20 million recipients, including school-age children, preschoolers, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. Through 5,800 Nutritional Service Units established in 38 provinces, MBG has created 290,000 jobs and engaged one million farmers, fishers, and small to medium-sized enterprises. President Prabowo emphasized that MBG is essential for nurturing a healthy and productive generation, citing increased school attendance and improved academic performance. The success of the program has surpassed that of other nations, with Brazil taking 11 years to achieve a similar level of impact. The Annual Session, attended by various government officials, acknowledged the positive outcomes of MBG and its role in driving economic growth in rural areas.
