President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly received the Peruvian President, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The grand state ceremony was made even more special with the presence of 3,000 students from elementary to high school levels from all over Jakarta. President Boluarte arrived at the palace in a magnificent motorcade, flanked by 17 motorcycle troops and 60 mounted guards, after making her way from the National Monument (Monas).
Upon her arrival, President Boluarte was personally greeted by President Prabowo. The two leaders then stood together on the ceremonial podium while the national anthems of Peru and Indonesia were played in succession. Subsequently, they inspected the honor guard and paid tribute to their respective national flags. The official delegations of both countries were then introduced, with President Prabowo accompanied by key ministers such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State Secretariat, Minister of Investment, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Trade, and Cabinet Secretary.
The bilateral meeting that followed aimed at strengthening the ties between Indonesia and Peru. Both countries are members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), showcasing the importance of multilateral economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. This visit by President Boluarte is a reciprocal gesture, following President Prabowo’s official visit to Peru last year, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic exchanges between the two nations.
