Ester Nenggokaka, a resident of Southwest Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, leads a humble life dedicated to providing for her two children. Despite the challenges she faces, Ester remains resilient and determined. One of her children, Lorensius Aganta, was underweight at only 7 kilograms before benefiting from the Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis, MBG) program. This initiative had a positive impact on her son’s health, and Ester is grateful for it.
Since receiving the MBG meals regularly, Ester has noticed a noticeable improvement in her son’s weight. She eagerly awaits his next health check at the local community clinic to monitor his progress. Every morning, Ester receives a nutritious variety of food items for her children, such as eggs, fish, meat, tofu, tempeh, and vegetables, ensuring they have a balanced diet.
Despite the challenges she faces without access to electricity or land ownership, Ester remains hopeful for a better future. She looks forward to President Prabowo’s continued support to uplift their living standards. The meals provided through the MBG program have not only nourished her child but also instilled a sense of hope and optimism for what lies ahead.
