President Prabowo Subianto recently attended the funeral of the late Major General (Ret.) Eddie Marzuki Nalapraya, a respected figure in Indonesian pencak silat, at the Pencak Silat Training Center in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta. President Prabowo arrived at the center, dressed in a brown safari suit and black peci cap, to offer his condolences to Eddie’s family, pay his respects to the deceased, and console his loved ones. During the visit, Prabowo commended Eddie Nalapraya for his significant contributions to pencak silat as a national hero and former IPSI Chairman, underlining the martial art’s role in shaping the nation’s character. Highlighting Eddie’s unwavering dedication, Prabowo emphasized his relentless advocacy for pencak silat both at home and abroad. In recognition of his lifetime accomplishments, Eddie Nalapraya posthumously received the Bintang Mahaputera award. President Prabowo concluded his tribute with prayers for Eddie Nalapraya’s eternal peace, bidding a final farewell to the esteemed figure and acknowledging his profound influence on Indonesian pencak silat.
