President Prabowo Subianto expressed his special appreciation for all officers and participants involved in the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He commended their discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day. The president extended his gratitude to everyone involved, highlighting their commitment to carrying out the ceremony with great spirit. He instructed Ceremony Commander Colonel Slamet to personally thank each participant for their efforts in ensuring the event ran smoothly and orderly.
In accordance with the president’s instructions, 80 percent of the invitations were given to the general public. The day’s activities included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace, followed by a People’s Festival featuring cultural performances and culinary offerings. The celebrations culminated with a fireworks display around the National Monument.
The festivities will continue with the United Independence Carnival on August 17, 2025, marking the peak of the 80th Independence Day celebrations. The carnival will traverse from the National Monument along Jalan MH Thamrin to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi, offering a grand finale to the day’s events. President Prabowo expressed his pride in the success of the ceremony and the participation of all involved, underscoring the importance of honoring Indonesia’s Independence Day.
