Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, recently made headlines as he took a ride on the Whoosh high-speed train from Halim Station in Jakarta to Bandung, West Java. The President’s unexpected appearance at the station, dressed in a cream-colored outfit, generated excitement among the public as he interacted warmly with the crowd and waved to onlookers before boarding the train.
President Prabowo’s train journey was en route to Tegalluar Station in Bandung, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the 2025 Indonesian Convention on Science, Technology, and Industry (KSTI) at Sasana Budaya Ganesa, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) from August 7 to 9. The convention will feature notable speakers, including Nobel Laureate Konstantin Novoselov and Minister of Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, alongside President Prabowo who will deliver the keynote address.
With the theme of “Economic Growth and Equity Through Mastery of Science and Technology,” KSTI 2025 aims to position itself as a crucial platform for discussions at both national and international levels. This event is expected to bring together experts to delve into the role of science and technology in driving economic development and fostering equity, setting the stage for fruitful deliberations and strategic planning for the future.
This journey and subsequent participation in the science and technology convention mark President Prabowo’s commitment to advancing Indonesia’s scientific and technological landscape, while engaging with the public in a unique and memorable way.
