The Indonesian government is initiating the School-Based Free Health Screening Program (CKG Sekolah) on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 12 different schools across the country. This program, as highlighted by Adita Irawati from the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision of developing a strong human capital base for Indonesia’s future. CKG Sekolah is a strategic move towards prioritizing preventive and promotive healthcare approaches to ensure the well-being of children and adolescents in the long run.
Launched on February 10, 2025, the broader CKG Program has already reached over 16 million individuals by August 1, 2025, aiming to serve the entire population of Indonesia, totaling 281 million. Specifically, 53.8 million school-age children will benefit from the CKG Sekolah initiative, covering students from various educational institutions like elementary, junior and senior high schools, Islamic madrasahs, and People’s Schools.
The program signifies a shift in public health behavior, encouraging routine health screenings even for those who feel healthy, to detect potential health risks early on. With the Ministry of Health’s effective implementation of the CKG Sekolah program, President Prabowo’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles from a young age is evident. The government’s proactive approach to conducting health screenings in schools aims to safeguard the well-being of the younger generation and prevent future health complications.
By emphasizing the importance of early health screenings, the government aims to identify and address health issues in children before they escalate. Hasan Nasbi, from the Presidential Communication Office, appreciates the Ministry of Health’s efforts in executing the CKG Sekolah program efficiently. The ultimate goal is to create a healthier future by investing in the health of children and adolescents through proactive healthcare initiatives like CKG Sekolah.
