The SPPG Kitchen: A Heartfelt Journey of Gratitude

On July 30, 2025, in Serdang Bedagai, emotions overflowed as Aslina shared her remarkable transformation story. Being part of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program at the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) in Cempedak Lobang, Sei Rampah, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the life-changing program. Standing alongside esteemed regional leaders like Hasan Nasbi and North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution, Aslina tearfully thanked the President for the program’s positive impact on her daily life.

Prior to joining the MBG program, Aslina was a homemaker with no source of income, while her husband worked as a laborer with limited earnings. Now, she plays an essential role in preparing healthy meals for school children in her community, bringing a newfound sense of hope into her life. Another participant, Normawati, shared how the opportunity to earn extra income close to home has been indispensable in supporting her family, particularly her school-going children who benefit from the nutritious meals provided by the MBG program.

The transformative impact of the program is evident in the story of 21-year-old Shinta Ramadana. Previously unemployed, she now works in food preparation with great enthusiasm, embodying the empowerment ethos promoted by the MBG Program. These remarkable women, including Aslina, Norma, and Shinta, are just a few examples of individuals nationwide who have discovered employment opportunities and renewed hope through this groundbreaking initiative, as reported by the National Nutrition Agency.

More than just delivering nutritious meals, the MBG Program represents empowerment and transformation. It has converted kitchens into beacons of hope, where individuals like Aslina, Norma, and Shinta have found avenues for meaningful work and personal growth. The program stands as a testament to the positive impact of providing opportunities for employment and empowerment within local communities.
