President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia recently affirmed his administration’s dedication to boosting the people’s economy by launching 80,081 Merah Putih Village Cooperatives nationwide. These cooperatives aim to shorten supply chains, ensuring that essential goods are accessible to low-income communities at fair prices. The initiative includes setting up infrastructure like warehouses, pharmacies, and retail outlets at the village level to provide affordable generic medicines, fertilizers, and staple foods directly to the people. President Prabowo also stressed the importance of preventing fraudulent practices in staple goods distribution, utilizing tools like artificial intelligence and quality control laboratories for quick detection. He called for unity in pursuing social justice and prioritizing national interests over party or group affiliations. Through the Merah Putih Village Cooperatives, the government aims to improve access to essential goods, promote fairness, and uphold the well-being of all citizens.
