President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, expressed optimism about Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring hundreds of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia. The statement came after a bilateral meeting between Prabowo and Lula at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo warmly welcomed the plan, believing it would boost cooperation in trade and investment between the two nations and lead to concrete results. He highlighted the common interests and vast potential for economic relations between Indonesia and Brazil, noting their large populations and abundant natural resources. Prabowo praised Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, expressing Indonesia’s interest in learning from Brazil’s experiences. In addition, Prabowo appreciated Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plan to send technical teams to study Brazil’s innovations. Besides visiting Brasília, Prabowo attended the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro during his time in Brazil. President Lula is expected to visit Indonesia in October, and Prabowo mentioned plans for a grand celebration in Jakarta to mark Lula’s 80th birthday.
